Juli Monsun is a spoilt, half-white brat—a descendent of both Bengali street kids and a pop diva. In the comeback show of the Bollywood starlet who has aged much too quickly, temper tantrums are mixed with pretension and gluttony. Binge eating, never being full, and a head that doesn’t fit to the body it is sitting on. And then there are a couple of underpaid background dancers who feel destined for greater things. Can a comeback succeed?

»Juli Monsun: Back from Bollywood« intertwines queer identity, perspectives of growing up with different cultural influences and the global adolescent traumas of the German affluent society.
 
Brats are Juli Mahid Carly, Julian Moritz and Sar Adina Scheer. They have been touring different festivals since 2019, continuously developing their art characters as a collective. The three got to know each other while studying at the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst in Ludwigsburg. As the Brats collective, they rummage in trash, love texts, speaking onstage, the moment when speaking apparatuses take over the body and brains are at the tip of the tongue. Other independent works include »We Ate That Up« at the Theater unterm Dach and “anti.aging.apfel” in the frame of the competition held at the Theater Drachengasse in 2023.
