The fact that the anonymity of digital spaces effects a shift in what is (un)sayable can be observed daily in the comments and newsfeeds of the social media. But how about public space? cindy+cate venture a stocktaking. ›Sprechraum‹ is an artistic experimental setup that seeks to make the polyphony of coexistence in the city audible. cindy+cate develop a new form for their work specifically for the online edition of OUTNOW!. A radio broadcast begins, an online portal is installed. Everyone can write. cindy+cate speak. Perhaps.
As an artistic collective, the eight members of cindy+cate fathom public space. Using participatory game formats, they let at times randomly selected members of the audience become part of their performances. cindy+cate question and examine how borders are drawn and practice utopia. cindy+cate met while studying at the HBK Braunschweig. ›Sprechraum‹ is their first project as a collective.
